A pure essential oil blend Fennel, Ginger, Lemon, Mandarin and Peppermint, our Tummies Blend is sure to offer some relief.
Fennel essential oil has a peppery, sweet scent, and may have powerful detoxifying, diuretic, and stomachic properties. This essential oil has been long though to aid digestion and may offer quick relief for nausea and flatulence. Steam distilled from the seeds; this top/middle note oil is a great addition to this blend.
Ginger essential oil might be the most well-known natural remedy for an upset stomach. With a strong, warm, and spicy scent, this oil is thought to have analgesic, digestive, and stimulant effects. This base note essential oil is steam distilled from the root and has also been known to aid hangovers and motion sickness.
Lemon essential oil has a refreshing, sweet citrus aroma, and may have powerful antibacterial, immune-stimulating, and disinfecting properties. Cold pressed from the lovely yellow peel, this top note oil has a wide range of uses that include potentially stimulating the lymphatic system. Note that this oil is photo-toxic and can be a skin irritant if not used properly with a carrier oil.
Mandarin essential oil (also known as Tangerine) has a strong, fresh orange scent, and is thought to have calming, digestive stimulating, sedative, and uplifting effects. Cold pressed from the peel, this top note oil may have a tonic and stimulating effect on the stomach and liver and might calm the intestines.
Peppermint essential oil is another oil well known to be a remedy for a plethora of stomach ailments. Potentially a strong analgesic, antispasmodic, and expectorant, this spicy, menthol smelling oil is a great help when dealing with diarrhea, indigestion, vomiting, and stomach pains.
Add this blend to an unscented cream or carrier oil and massage onto the stomach to hopefully give relief. Please note that when using on children, only use half the strength (7 drops to 30mls of carrier oil).
