Description of Benzoin Essential Oil

Benzoin essential oil is the active ingredient in "Friars Balsam". It is used as an inhalation for coughs and loss of voice, and may also help to heal chapped and cracked hands when added to a base cream. It is a comforting and uplifing essential oil with a faint vanilla scent. This essential oil is collected in a solid form and is thinned using di propylene glycol.

Specific Cautions for Benzoin Essential Oil

Avoid during pregnancy. Is a well documented sensitizer. Use with caution, especially in the bath.
